Privacy Policy
The short version. Aheado has no accounts and no servers of its own. Everything you add stays on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own private iCloud. We do not track you, and the app contains no advertising or analytics. The only data that ever reaches us is a message you choose to send through the feedback form or by email.
Who we are
Aheado is an iOS app made by an independent developer. In this policy, "we" means the developer of Aheado. You can reach us at support@aheado.io.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Aheado is stored locally on your device:
- your entries: names, dates, amounts, notes and reminder settings;
- reminder sounds you record;
- your app settings.
We cannot see or access any of it. Reminders are scheduled on the device itself and are not sent through any server.
iCloud sync
Sync is optional and off unless you turn it on. When it is on, your entries and recorded sounds are stored in your private iCloud database so they can appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. That database belongs to you and is operated by Apple. We have no access to it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Notifications, to show the reminders you set.
- Contacts, only when you choose to import birthdays. Aheado reads names and birthdays to create reminder entries for them. Your address book is not uploaded anywhere.
- Microphone, only when you record your own reminder sound.
Each permission is optional. The app keeps working if you decline, and you can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Aheado+ purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account. Apple gives us only aggregated sales reports that do not identify you.
When you contact us
Aheado has an optional feedback form. Nothing is sent until you tap Send. When you do, we receive:
- your message;
- your email address, if you choose to enter one so we can reply;
- your device model, iOS version, app version and language, which help us reproduce problems.
The form shows this list before you send. The message is delivered through StaticForms, a form-delivery service that forwards it to our support inbox. It never includes your entries, contacts or recordings.
If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
In both cases we use the information only to answer you and to fix the problem you describe. We do not use it for marketing, we do not share it with anyone else, and we delete it on request.
This website
This website (aheado.io) uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you allow analytics cookies.
- If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location derived from your IP address, and your browser and device type.
- Until you accept, or if you decline, no analytics cookies are set. Google may still receive limited cookieless signals, such as that a page was viewed, which it uses only for aggregated and modeled statistics.
Your choice is saved in your browser so the banner does not appear on every visit. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Google processes analytics data under the Google Privacy Policy. We do not use it for advertising.
Analytics on the website is separate from the app. The Aheado app contains no analytics, and nothing you enter in the app is ever connected to your visits to this website.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may record technical information such as IP addresses in its server logs, as any web host does.
Children
Aheado is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal data from anyone.
Deleting your data
You are in control of your data at all times. Deleting an entry removes it from the app, and deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. Data synced to iCloud can be removed in iOS Settings, under your Apple Account, iCloud, Manage Storage.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you beyond messages you choose to send us, there is normally nothing for us to provide, correct or erase. If you have written to us and want that correspondence deleted, email support@aheado.io.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
